XTU SV-TCQSW Solar Trail Camera FAQ

Find answers to common questions about setup, PIR motion detection, Micro SD cards, app connection, and password reset.

1. The camera does not detect object movement in ON mode. What should I check?

Please check the following:

  1. Make sure Motion Detection mode is turned on and the camera's working hours are set correctly.
  2. Open the camera system menu and select PIR Test. Move your hand in front of the lens. If the red indicator flashes and the trigger count appears on the screen, the PIR function is working properly.
  3. Install the camera at a height of approximately 1.5–2 m (5–6.5 ft) and angle it slightly downward. The PIR sensor may not trigger if the camera is installed too low or aimed horizontally.
  4. Keep the monitoring distance within 22–25 m (72–82 ft). Very small or distant moving objects may not be detected; for example, a rabbit or mouse 20 m away may not trigger the PIR sensor.
  5. Remove the protective films from both the camera lens and the PIR sensor. Leaving the films in place may reduce detection performance.
  6. PIR detection is affected by temperature. Performance is generally best at an ambient temperature of around 20°C (68°F). In higher temperatures, shorten the detection distance if necessary.
2. Why does the camera show “No Memory Card,” or why are there no pictures on the Micro SD card?

Please check the following:

  1. Make sure the Micro SD card is inserted correctly into the card slot.
  2. Format the Micro SD card before using it for the first time.
  3. Try a different Micro SD card, or insert the current card into a computer to confirm that it is working normally.
  4. If the problem persists, contact XTU Customer Support at support@xtucam.com.
3. After I connect the camera to the mobile app, why does it not record when an object moves in front of the lens?

This is normal. The camera's PIR sensor works only when the camera is in standby mode. PIR recording is disabled while the camera is connected wirelessly to the app.

During an app connection, you can adjust settings, view the live image, and play back files.

4. Why does the app report that the camera has lost connection?

Please note the following:

  1. The camera may disconnect automatically when the phone screen turns off, when the app runs in the background, or when you use other phone functions. This is normal and helps save power. Tap “Connect Camera” to reconnect.
  2. If the connection drops while you are viewing live video, the camera battery may be low. Replace the batteries or charge the camera using a USB-C cable.
  3. The effective Bluetooth and wireless connection range is up to approximately 20 m (66 ft) in an open area. Move the phone closer to the camera and reduce obstacles between them.
5. What should I do if I forget the password?

Turn off the camera. Press and hold the button and the OK button at the same time, then move the power switch to the ON position to reset the password.

If the problem persists, contact support@xtucam.com.
